Soybean milk - a healthy and nutritious drink

Mrs. Husni, in the past was a housewife with 3 children who was also an earthquake victim in Yogyakarta in 2006. In October 2008, Mrs. Husni with 3 friends followed MicroAid Projects Training on to how to make soybean milk at home. The training for her and three other families was funded by MicroAid donors and implemented in Gambiran village, Yogyakarta. The micro-project coordinated through Insan Mandiri Foundation as a MicroAid Projects Community Facilitation Partner.

Hamira, a fish chips producer

The comparative study which was publicized and financed by MicroAid Projects donor was aimed at providing the opportunities to poor families in three villages, i.e. Bajo Indah, Lalonggaluku and Olo-Oloho to visit one another and learned about the potentials of each other's village and learned family business from those who had been successful in initiating small scale home enterprises such as:

  • Production of coconut oil with extract of papaya leaves
  • Land cultivation for cocoa farming
  • Production of organic fertilizers

Packaging training increases Sri's profits

Sri Rahayu, a participant in MicroAid Projects products packaging training has now increased her selling price and profits by changing the packaging of her product. Sri Rahayu, a single mother in Bogor, Indonesia last June, has increased her sales of emping crisps. Emping are traditional snacks from Java.
